India-Nordic Summit in Oslo to Boost Trade, Green Tech and Arctic Cooperation
The third India-Nordic Summit will be held in Oslo, Norway, which will be seen as a diplomatic gesture of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming at bolstering the strategic and economic partnership between India and five other Nordic nations including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Denmark. Some of the major topics to be discussed during the summit will include green technologies, blue economy, and cooperation in the Arctic region, where India aims to forge a cooperation framework. It should be noted that the current summit will be held against a highly geopolitical background in view of the need for India to diversify its energy resources and trade relationships amid the ongoing crisis among US-Israel-Iran and Russia-Ukraine. However, notwithstanding the fact that trade will be one of the key issues of discussion, involving investments worth $100bn by the EFTA countries, some European leaders are worried about human rights in India.
